Splash Win Round 2
|
The Round 2 may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The Coca-Cola Splash, however, are not complaining.
The Splash were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the AmGen Chemists to advance to the Round 3.
Coca-Cola won the final game by a 5-4 count at Chesapeake College Fields and the series 4-2.
Splash second baseman Guillermo León was named series MVP, as he hit .357 with a .419 on-base percentage. He added 5 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 9 runs.
"It's not going to be the last time AmGen makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," León said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day."
The Coca-Cola Splash will play against the Chevron Gold in the next round. Chevron won their series against the Lincoln Continentals 4 games to 2. The Round 3 is scheduled to begin on March 20th , 2062.
