Oysters Fall Short, 4-3, at Boise
|
The Boise Spuds and Rocky Mountain Oysters played an entertaining game for F. Nephi Grigg Memorial Stadium patrons.
Boise beat Rocky Mountain at F. Nephi Grigg Memorial Stadium, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to third baseman Bill Kuhn. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Brian Groves notched his 3rd save in 6 chances.
With Boise trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Kuhn hit a fastball from Jamie Barber for a 2-run home run. It was his 27th home run of the season and put the Spuds ahead, 4-3.
Kuhn attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
The Spuds improved to 49-65.
