Tarpons Move on to Garden Cup
|
When the entire season comes down to one game, Manuel Nevada said you find out what a team is really about.
As it turns out, the Silver Springs Tarpons are made of fight and tenacity, as the team got by the Eau Claire Cavaliers 5-3 tonight at Glass Bottom Park in order to win the Outfield Rail Series and book a place in the next round.
"It wasn't hard to get excited for this game," said Nevada, whose strong offensive output earned him MVP honors. "Our guys answered the call and proved a lot about what our team is all about."
Nevada hit .455 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Silver Springs Tarpons will play against the Toledo Liberty in the next round. Toledo won their series against the Quebec Capitals 2 games to 0. The Garden Cup is scheduled to begin on September 9th , 2063.
