Mudcats Prevail, as Outfield Rail Series Goes to the Wire
The Shreveport Mudcats were paced by a strong offensive output from Santiago Juárez as they downed the Portsmouth Vikings 2-1 to win the Outfield Rail Series.

Shreveport won the final game by a score of 3-2 at Little Debbie Stadium "The Deb" to send themselves off to the Garden Cup.

"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said right fielder Juárez, who was named MVP.

For the series, the MVP hit .333 with a .385 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Shreveport Mudcats will play against the Toledo Liberty in the next round. Toledo won their series against the Quebec Capitals 2 games to 1. The Garden Cup is scheduled to begin on September 9th , 2062.
