Charlotte and Cobble Hill duked it out and the Flyers came out victorious.

The Flyers grabbed a win, 5-4, at McDermott Park at Ebbets Field, overcoming a fine effort from Cobble Hill pitcher Cody Glynn. Glynn went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Picking up his 1st save was former first round draft pick Josh Dougherty.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for José Vargas? The former first round draft pick Vargas stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Charlotte up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"You come to the ballpark to do your job and that's what I did today," Vargas told the Charlotte Citizen.

The win has Charlotte at 1-1.
