Badr Isam knocked in 3 runs to help Sacramento beat San Fernando, 7-3. The Cairo, Egypt native tallied 2 singles and 1 home run. Joe Brooks, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held the Bears to 3 runs on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The Mad Popes, now 11-4, have played some good baseball in the early going.

Sacramento used the hitting of Chinh Tran-Nhu to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mad Popes on top, 4-3. For the game, Tran-Nhu had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Tran-Nhu.
