Lumberjacks right fielder Bartolo McFadden left his mark on his team's 5-3 win over the Sacramento Mad Popes. McFadden went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Portland in the contest. Frank Wilson, who finished 3rd in the FL in saves with 36 last year, nailed down the save. Sacramento, with the loss, is still a robust 12-5.
Portland catcher Allan Uecker contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a sinker to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 9th hit of the season and put the Lumberjacks ahead, 2-0.
McFadden attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
