Valencia Stars starter Shiro Takahashi was on his game, helping his team beat the San Fernando Bears, 6-1. The Stars with just their 5th win in 17 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.

Tim Bartlett had a big 3-run home run for the Stars in the bottom of the second inning. With Valencia leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from former first round draft pick Morris Chapa and swatted a home run to left. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stars ahead, 4-0.

Takahashi attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
