Squires Rips 2 Homers in 9-5 Win
Thanks in large part to center fielder Greg Squires, the Portland Lumberjacks beat the San Fernando Bears, 9-5. Squires belted 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6. Alaric Wullenweber picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-1 on the season. He struck out 1 and walked 2 in 7 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Frank Wilson finished to wrap up his 3rd save.

Squires contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Portland in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-0, Squires took a curveball from Morgan Tomsett and stroked the home run to left-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Lumberjacks to leap in front, 4-2.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Squires.

The loss makes San Fernando 13-7.
