Scovell Pitches Gem as PIlots Beat Medicine Hat, 2-0
|
The Parker PIlots did little to support starter Ryan Scovell against the Medicine Hat Flaming Nukes, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The right-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Flaming Nukes, striking out 8 and surrendering 3 hits. The performance from Scovell allowed Parker to escape with the 2-0 win, despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said, 'Ryan, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Scovell told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
This season, Scovell has compiled a 6-6 mark with a 3.92 ERA in 14 starts.
