The Trail in Multnomah was the site for Frick League action featuring the Portland Lumberjacks and San Fernando Bears.

San Fernando first baseman Yuu Suzuki made his presence felt in the 10-6 Bears triumph over the Portland Lumberjacks. Suzuki went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Carlos Williams earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 2-0. Bob Butler earned the save for San Fernando, his 2nd of the year.

Suzuki had a crucial hit for San Fernando with two out in the top of the third. With San Fernando trailing 1-0, Suzuki hit a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Bears ahead, 2-1.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Suzuki told a San Fernando Observer reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

Despite the defeat, Portland still has a fine 19-10 record.
