Kirmani on Fire: 5-for-6 for Charleston
|
After a 5-hit effort to lead Charleston's 14-7 victory over the Frederick Travelers, second baseman Sarang Kirmani told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Warren Cox League-level is really something special."
The 25-year-old player earned his accolades at The Bear Stearns Slum with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Travelers.
"His swing is getting there," said Clippers skipper Andrew Rudge, who spoke glowingly of Kirmani after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Sarang did that to perfection."
Sarang Kirmani singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, tripled in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
In this current campaign Kirmani is hitting at a .286 clip with 2 home runs and 4 RBIs.
