The home crowd had a good time watching the San Fernando Bears and Vancouver Mounties get after it.
Starting pitcher Motka Beteev was a major factor in the 6-1 Vancouver Mounties triumph over the San Fernando Bears. The winning pitcher was Beteev, now 1-2. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6.
Zhi Li had a big 2-run home run for the Mounties in the bottom of the third inning. With Vancouver leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Morgan Tomsett, who is tied for 8th in the FL in innings pitched with 40.2, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Mounties on top, 4-0.
Said losing manager Gonzalo Escobar: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
San Fernando drops to 19-12.
