Silva Belts 5 Hits
|
It was high-fives all around for Carlos Silva at Mankato Park.
He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Mankato Moondogs. Silva smashed 5 hits in 7 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 2-1 win.
"Carlos was hitting everything," said Castors manager Domingo Carmona. "It really was a special game for him."
In the opposing dugout, Moondogs manager Jesús Rivera told BNN beat writers that Silva "ambushed" the club.
"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Silva oversleeps next time."
Carlos Silva singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 12th and hit an RBI single in the 14th.
On the year, Silva has hit .315 with 5 home runs, 49 RBIs and scored 44 runs.
