The outcome was not decided until the very end at The Trail in Multnomah.

The Portland Lumberjacks, despite a fine performance by Yellow Springs pitcher Sakutaro Kawano, grabbed a 3-2 win at The Trail in Multnomah. Kawano allowed no runs over 7 innings. Portland, at 21-25, holds down 6th place in the Frick League Pacific Division.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Portland pinch hitter Hideaki Ohayashi, facing Jesús Ríos, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Lumberjacks the 3-2 win.

"Every loss hurts," said Yellow Springs manager Bill Inkster. "But this was a tough one."
