It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-7 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Javier Gallegos, it came around today.

The 15-year-old second baseman scattered hits all over Field of the Mighty Gulls to pace the 23-14 Berkshire Hathaway Wolves victory over the MGM Gamblers.

MGM skipper Rafael Ybarra told reporters in the press room that "Gallegos deserves a hat-tip."

"He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Gallegos hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit."

Javier Gallegos struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Armando Mata in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

Posting a .426 batting average to date, Gallegos has 10 home runs and 41 RBIs.
