Soggy conditions did not keep Rosenblatt and Cobble Hill from playing their scheduled game.
In a tight contest between the Rosenblatt Bombers and the Cobble Hill Robins, Jim Ploughman was the determining factor. The Rosenblatt left-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. The winner was Ploughman. He threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The loser was Dave Labonte. Kirk Redding earned the save, his 14th.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Pablo Castillo? The former first round draft pick Castillo stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put Rosenblatt up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Ploughman told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
The third-place Robins have dropped 4 straight games.
