Mad Popes Net 6-4 Win Over Bears
|
Sacramento and San Fernando duked it out and the Mad Popes came out victorious.
Sacramento Mad Popes starter Mario Reyes pitched a strong game against the San Fernando Bears at Chico's Bail Bonds Field, leading the Mad Popes to victory, 6-4. Reyes picked up the win for Sacramento, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 10-6.
Sacramento used a clutch at-bat from Yoshitora Goto to capture the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Mad Popes ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Sacramento manager Fernando Pacheco.
The victory gives the Mad Popes a record of 72-52.
