Warner Blisters Mississauga Thursday, September 1st , 2061 Even as a kid, Gary Warner said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Duane Whitley Field, Warner showed how well he learned that lesson. The 24-year-old third baseman had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Reno Aces, helping his team knock off the Mississauga Spartans by a score of 13-1. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." Gary Warner doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
