García Stretches Hit String to 30 Tuesday, June 20th , 2062 The Peoria Spirits fell to the Burlington Big Eyed Fish in Bass Pro Shop Field, even as 23-year-old shortstop Juan García upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 30 games. García finished with 2 hits in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Spirits from dropping the 4-3 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said García. Juan García singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th. Thus far this season, García has hit .359 with 3 home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 45 times. |
