Saint Joseph No Match for Brothers
Sunday, August 6th , 2062
Before the game, Tom Brothers said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Synergy Field, the Generals pitcher blanked the Saint Joseph Butchers, 5-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Brothers said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my fastball even when I was behind in the count."
The Trenton starter held Saint Joseph scoreless, giving up 5 hits while registering 4 strikeouts and issuing no walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Butchers manager Michael Vincent said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
For the season, Brothers has logged 10 wins and 1 loss and struck out 105 batters in 124.2 innings while compiling a 2.53 ERA.
