Vasily Augustoff collected yet another hit in the 7-5 Bismarck Churchills win over the Snow Creatures at Shotz Field. The Bismarck left fielder finished 3-for-5 in the game. During an extended batting practice session before the game, the famously hard-working Augustoff had fielded questions from reporters about his hitting streak, which now sits at 20 games. "I'm not doing too much special," he said. "I'm well-prepared and I'm just trying to get the bat on the ball and put it in play." Vasily Augustoff grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Enrico Salazar in the 7th and flied out in the 8th. This year, Augustoff has collected a .331 batting average to date with 166 hits in 501 at-bats, 62 RBIs, 15 home runs and scored 90 times. He has played in 125 games. |
