Augustoff 22-Game Hitting Streak Ends Sunday, August 27th , 2062 It was the best of both worlds for the Winnipeg Black Drums at Satchel Paige Field, as they defeated the Bismarck Churchills, 4-2, and also snapped Vasily Augustoff's 22-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old Bismarck left fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Augustoff, we just wanted to win the game," said Black Drums skipper Rob Jones. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Augustoff frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." In 2062 Augustoff has hit at a .330 clip with 169 hits, 15 home runs, 63 RBIs and has scored 91 times. |
