Bourgeois Rips Charleston for 5 Hits Tuesday, May 1st , 2063 It was a hits blitz for Ernie Bourgeois at Sioux City Stadium. The Sioux City Xplorers right fielder tore into the Charleston Clippers for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it wasn't enough to win the game. The Clippers swept past the Xplorers, 7-5, to ruin Bourgeois's day. "We weren't locating our pitches well," Sioux City manager Juan López explained after the game. "Once you get behind in the count, you have to make really good pitches, rather than pretty good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today. Getting 5 hits from Ernie was nice but it wasn't enough." Ernie Bourgeois singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Safiy Hancox in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
