López Mows Down Charleston, 2-0
Tuesday, June 26th , 2063
In a seemingly effortless performance, Vicente López of the Saint Joseph Butchers shot down the Charleston Clippers, 2-0, on 5 hits.
"Vicente was just locating so well and using his pitches," Saint Joseph manager Michael Vincent said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
López recorded 10 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Charleston manager Andrew Rudge said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
This year, López has earned no saves, worked 44 innings, fanned 46 hitters and recorded a 2.66 ERA. He has also put up a 4-1 won-lost mark.
