Upchurch Keeps Hit Streak Alive Thursday, June 28th , 2063 Calvin Upchurch, catcher for the Mississauga Spartans, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 1 hit in his club's 3-2 victory over the Kamloops Moops at Duane Whitley Field. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Calvin Upchurch walked in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and doubled in the 8th. For the season, Upchurch is batting .299 with 50 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 13 times and batted in 18. |
