Drillers Pitching Ravaged by Tamayo
Tuesday, August 21st , 2063
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Reno's 15-1 win over Beaumont, second baseman José Tamayo was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at The Base.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Tamayo said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
José Tamayo grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Tamayo is currently batting .241 with 9 home runs and 48 RBIs.
