Sultan of Swing: Castro Goes Deep 3 Times Saturday, August 25th , 2063 Alejandro Castro went on an explosive hitting spree against the Mississauga Spartans at Duane Whitley Field, launching a trio of blasts to help the Jamestown Comets win, 13-6. The first baseman finished 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored and 4 runs batted in. "It was just one of those days," Castro said in a postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball." Mississauga skipper Wing-kit Seah said Castro was "locked-in." "We made some pretty good pitches," he said. "Those first two homers were exactly where the pitcher wanted to put them. He's just hot right now -- you've just got to tip your hat to him." Alejandro Castro flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Fernando Soto in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Fernando Soto in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Kang-il Kim in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. For the year, Castro has hit .286 with 23 home runs, 54 RBIs and scored 50 runs. |
