Naugle Gets No-Hitter Against Corpus Christi
Saturday, August 25th , 2063
In a dominant outing, Dave Naugle of the High Point Hammers totally silenced the bats of the Corpus Christi Crawfish, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the 7-0 victory, Naugle faced only 27 batters, surrendered no hits, had 4 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," High Point manager Jesús Rivera said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Bob Hansen had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The Hammers had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Naugle pitched a heck of a ballgame."
His record this year is 7-3 in 13 starts and Naugle has a 3.32 ERA.
