5 Hits for Rocketmen Dormane
Monday, April 24th , 2062
It was a sensational day at the plate for Carlos Dormane as he led the charge to a nifty 8-5 win over the ThunderBears. The Redwood City first baseman was pure misery for the Topeka pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Dormane put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Adrián Rico, manager for the ThunderBears, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Carlos Dormane singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, walked in the 7th, doubled in the 9th, hit a solo-shot off Álex Hernández in the 11th, struck out in the 13th and singled in the 14th.
In 22 games Dormane is hitting .293 this season with 24 hits, 5 home runs, 16 RBIs, 15 walks, .398 OBP and has scored 12 runs.
