Knights Fizzle in 3-0 Loss to Castors
Friday, July 7th , 2062
The Charlesbourg Castors did little to support starter Donald Wild against the Dearborn Heights Knights, but it turned out he didn't need the help.
The left-hander spun a complete game shutout against the Knights, striking out 8 and surrendering 2 hits. The performance from Wild allowed Charlesbourg to escape with the 3-0 win, despite an anemic offense.
"Nobody came to me and said, 'Donald, we're gonna need you to win this one for us today,' but I could feel it," Wild told BNN reporters following the win. "I'm the guy that will step up for you when you need it."
Thus far this season, Wild has compiled a 2-1 record, made 11 relief appearances with no saves, hurling 36.2 innings and striking out 26. He has held the opposition to a .271 batting average with a 4.91 ERA.
