Okada on Fire: 6-for-7 for Springdale Wednesday, July 19th , 2062 A jubilant Kohei Okada joined the postgame press conference at The Coop to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Medford Mules pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Springdale Roosters center fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 6-for-7 hitting performance, which led to the 9-8 Roosters win. "He made it look easy," said Benjamin O'Rorke, manager of the Mules. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Kohei Okada singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit a two-run single in the 11th.
