Charlesbourg Blanks Portsmouth, Anderson Winner
Monday, June 18th , 2063
The Portsmouth Vikings manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Charlesbourg Castors. The Vikings were overpowered by Charlesbourg starter Martin Anderson, who hurled his club to victory, 4-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Eric Cross said.
Over 9 innings, Anderson blanked Portsmouth on 4 hits with 2 walks and 14 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Anderson said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
In 9 starts this season, Anderson has recorded 3 wins and absorbed 4 losses. He has pitched 64 innings, allowed 55 hits, struck out 69 and has a 3.09 ERA.
