Cortéz Takes PL Top Starter Trophy Saturday, September 1st , 2063 José Cortéz of Hollywood excelled on the mound in August with a 6-0 record and was named the Pitcher of the Month in the Provost League. Cortéz restricted opposing batters to 29 base hits and a .190 batting average. He rang up 22 strikeouts in 42.2 innings of work, surrendered 10 walks, and fashioned a 1.27 ERA.
