Marching Ants Advance to Round 2 Tuesday, August 23rd , 2061 The Charlottesville Marching Ants are one step closer to winning a Round 3, and the season came to a close for the Russellville Rockets. Charlottesville won the Round 1 4-1, with a 6-5 victory in the deciding game at Wilcutt Field today. Charlottesville center fielder Manuel Gonzáles was named the MVP of the series, after hitting .304 with a .304 on-base percentage. He had 2 homers, drove in 5 RBI and scored 5 runs. "I just hope I can keep it up in the Round 2," he said. The Charlottesville Marching Ants will play against the Traverse City Talons in the next round.
