Peterson Slams 5 Hits for Albany
Thursday, August 10th , 2062
Kenny Peterson put on a hitting clinic as the Albany Atoms dumped the Denison Monarchs, 13-2, at Ballpark of Minneapolis.
The Albany right fielder made Denison defenders earn their pay, lashing Denison pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Peterson said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Kenny Peterson hit a solo-shot off Yan-hao Foong in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Yan-hao Foong in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This season, Peterson is swinging the bat at a .276 pace. He has hit 11 home runs and scored 41 times, while driving in 26. His on-base percentage is .332 and he has played in 60 games.
