Road Runners Heading to Round 2 Friday, August 25th , 2062 The championship aspirations of the Alamogordo Road Runners are still alive and well, while the Port Arthur Pythons are left to wait until next year. Alamogordo won the clinching game of the Round 1 11-4 over Port Arthur at Sting Ballpark, to win the series 4-2. "You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said catcher Arnold Ryan, who paced the Alamogordo offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit." Ryan claimed the MVP by racking up 11 hits for a .524 average, with a .556 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, 11 RBI and scored 7 runs. The Alamogordo Road Runners will play against the Monclova Aqua Sox in the next round. Monclova won their series against the Cheyenne Bulls 4 games to 1.
