Yamamoto Slams 5 Hits for PlayStation
Sunday, January 15th , 2062
Tokichiro Yamamoto was on quite a roll as he knocked the ball all over Ballpark of Lindstrom HS, collecting 5 hits. His day of glory wasn't able to win the game, however. The Pillsbury Doughboys got the 10-9 victory over the PlayStation Gamers.
"I never realized that a few hits could cause so much commotion," the shortstop said in the clubhouse after the game, crowded by reporters. "Headlines and highlights are great, but it takes a lot of luster off it that we lost."
After his first couple of hits, all eyes in the ballpark were on him each time Yamamoto stepped into the batter's box. Even some opposing fans were pulling for him, knowing they were watching a little slice of league history unfold.
When asked what the secret of hitting so well is, he smiled and said "relax, concentrate, and hit the ball where they ain't."
That's exactly what he did, as Yamamoto finished the game with 5 hits in 6 at-bats and a line in the record book. Tokichiro Yamamoto hit a solo-shot off Nelson Rosado in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Bernardo RamÃrez in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
Yamamoto is batting .455 this season in 14 games with 7 home runs, 16 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has 25 hits in 55 at-bats.
