Bombs Away: Byrnes Slams 4 Homers Thursday, February 9th , 2062 In a game for the ages, Firestone Fires center fielder Matt Byrnes launched 4 home runs at Silvertips Ballpark against the Dr. Pepper Surg. Time after time, Byrnes found his stroke against the shell-shocked Surg pitching staff, finishing with 9 RBIs and scoring 4 times as the Fires grabbed the 16-2 victory. "They pitch 'em and I hit 'em. I just did it a little better than them today," Byrnes said to reporters after his historic game. "I won big today, but they might get me out 4 times tomorrow." Matt Byrnes hit a two-run home run off Wade Woolley in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Wade Woolley in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Manuel Soto in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Ricardo Gómez in the 9th.
