Monster 3-HR Day for Fincher Friday, February 10th , 2062 Mike Fincher of the IBM Machines had a lot to celebrate in today's 13-2 win over the Ford Motors after pounding a trio of home runs at Ballpark of Jersey City HS. "I'm just closing my eyes and swinging as hard as I can," he joked with reporters after the game. "It worked well today." The powerful IBM third baseman tagged 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 9 runs and scored 3 times in his three-homer outburst. "We talked about changing our strategy for the third one, and then he went and hit another homer," Ford manager Tom Pace said. "We just couldn't get him out." Mike Fincher walked in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Salvador Martínez in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jesús Ritchie in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Emílio García in the 9th. Fincher on the season is batting .359 with 17 home runs. His totals include 51 RBIs and 41 runs scored. He has played in 36 games. |
