Monahan Extends Hit Streak to 35 Games

Tony Monahan has been ripping hits every day for a while now, and nobody seems able to stop him. The Allis-Chalmers first baseman picked up 1 more today against the Berkshire Hathaway Wolves and now has a 35-game hitting streak. The Engines won the game, 10-9.
"Definitely somebody's going to stop me at some point," he said later, chuckling. "I'll enjoy it for the time being." Tony Monahan grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
This year, Monahan is batting .447 with 68 hits, 10 home runs, 47 RBIs, 26 walks, .530 OBP and has scored 36 runs.
