Sugimoto Clobbers 3 HR Against Tire Friday, February 17th , 2062 PlayStation Gamers left fielder Ryuzaburo Sugimoto sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Goodyear Tire, Sugimoto told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Sugimoto pushed the Gamers past the Tire, 19-12. To go along with the homers, he collected 5 RBIs and scored 5 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Sugimoto told reporters after the game. Ryuzaburo Sugimoto singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Javier Nevárez in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Javier Nevárez in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Kelly Chase in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th. This season, Sugimoto is hitting .439 with 15 home runs. |
