Hits Galore: Wilson Drills 5 Hits
Wednesday, January 31st , 2063
After a 5-hit effort to lead Mobil's 14-13 victory over the Publix Meatheads, left fielder Raúl Wilson told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the High School All-Star Teams-level is really something special."
The 15-year-old player earned his accolades at Courageous Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the Meatheads.
"His swing is getting there," said Pegasus skipper David Bradley, who spoke glowingly of Wilson after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Raúl did that to perfection."
Raúl Wilson flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This season, Wilson is batting .422 with 4 home runs.
