Largent Sizzles with 38-Game Batting Streak Saturday, February 3rd , 2063 Tom Largent, first baseman for the Texaco Stars, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 38 games with 2 hits in his club's 15-2 victory over the POS Portal Machines at Fissures Ballpark. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Tom Largent struck out in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Miguel Angel Spurgeon in the 4th, singled in the 5th, walked in a run in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. For the year, Largent has hit .457 with 8 home runs, 42 RBIs and scored 34 runs. |
