Hit Streak Now at 20 for Simpson Thursday, February 3rd , 2061 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Andy Simpson did it again, bashing 3 hits in the contest at Bears Ballpark. For the last 20 games in a row, the 15-year-old center fielder has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Sydney Devil Bears beat the Tarawa Sun Kings, 7-5. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Simpson told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Sydney clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Andy Simpson hit a solo-shot off Seta Kekoanui in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. So far this season, Simpson has recorded a .350 batting average with 41 hits, 13 home runs, 34 RBIs, 34 runs scored and a .476 OBP. |
