In a powerful performance that left the fans at Eskimos Ballpark buzzing, Honiara Islanders left fielder Hakumele Huboka blasted a trio of home runs en route to a win, 12-7, over the Guam Emperors.
"Everything was clicking," Huboka told the press. "My timing was good and I got pitches I could handle and I didn't miss them."
Huboka shined brilliantly in the win, with 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
"It's not just one guy, it's everybody," Islanders manager Dominic Blenkinsopp said. "Hakumele played great but it takes more than one guy to win a game."
Hakumele Huboka hit a solo-shot off Isuro Kelly in the 1st, hit a GRAND SLAM off Isuro Kelly in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Isuro Kelly in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
This season, Huboka has banged out 12 hits in 29 at-bats for a .414 average with 7 home runs. He is getting on base at a .469 pace and his totals also include 15 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
