Checkers Kaulo Gone for Year
Tuesday, February 14th , 2062
The Koror Checkers learned that Apona Kaulo is likely to be out for 7 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Guam Emperors. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be shoulder inflammation. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Koror manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Apona is back in action."
This season, Kaulo has crafted a 0-1 mark with a 6.59 ERA in 27.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .316 against him and he has 37 strikeouts.
