Sun Kings End Karsumaatmaja Streak Friday, January 26th , 2063 The Port Moresby Seahawks lost to the Tarawa Sun Kings, 9-4, at Bombay HS Grounds, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Cipta Karsumaatmaja's 22-game hitting streak. The first baseman went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Karsumaatmaja, we would win the game," Sun Kings manager Rafael Rosas explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." Karsumaatmaja is batting at a .459 pace this season, picking up 39 hits in 85 at-bats with 12 home runs, 36 RBIs and 31 runs scored. |
