Bailey Struts Stuff in Win Over Shenyang
Friday, July 22nd , 2061
All went well for Kirby Bailey of the Panjin Fighting Knights as he pitched his team to a shutout victory, 1-0, over the Shenyang Water Pigs, limiting them to 6 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Bailey on the day.
"Kirby's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Fighting Knights manager Larry Gorman. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Panjin right-hander rang up 4 and surrendered no walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Water Pigs manager Belmiro Cardia. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
This year, Bailey has a 5-2 record with a 1.72 ERA.
