Delgado Belts Bunch of Base Hits
Wednesday, August 8th , 2063
Speaking with reporters after a dominating hitting performance, Dave Delgado said his club's tilt with the Wuchang Bream "felt almost like batting practice." The 20-year-old first baseman went a remarkable 5-for-7 at the plate.
"I saw the ball well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted," he recalled later.
However, his sensational day wasn't enough for the Yinchuan Drillers, who were topped by the Bream, 5-4.
"It's a good lesson for him, I guess," Drillers manager Jean Thomas said. "Sometimes Dave is going to lose. But I would rather him go 5-for-7 and lose than go 0-for-7 and lose."
Dave Delgado doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, grounded out in the 9th, singled in the 11th and grounded out in the 13th.
Delgado's current batting average stands at .362 and he has chalked up 8 home runs and 43 RBIs.
