Pengilly's 30-Game Hit Streak Ends Monday, April 3rd , 2062 Dan Pengilly saw his 30-game hitting streak wither and die during the Kanpur College Jackhammers win over Madras College at Jackhammers Park. The 19-year-old right fielder was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Madras College Salmon Kings, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 5-4. "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Pengilly told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 30 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good." This year, Pengilly is batting .376 with 2 home runs and 17 RBIs. |
